Short answer Yes
Moonshot EHR splits a program price into installments charged automatically to the card on file, with terms the clinic sets (counts from 2 to 60, monthly or twice-monthly), receipts for every cycle, bounded retries and patient notices when a charge fails, and the ability to change the card, switch programs mid-term, or void and refund individual cycles. Installments run on the NMI and TRX rails.
How it works in Moonshot
- Pick the allowed terms and cadences once in Settings; staff choose a term at checkout.
- Each cycle charges on schedule and sends a receipt; a failed cycle retries within limits, messages the patient to update the card, and opens a task for staff.
- Replace the card on an active plan, charge the next cycle on it, and repoint the plan; switch the plan to a new program mid-year if the patient upgrades.
- A renewal heads-up task fires at the penultimate cycle so the desk can offer what comes next.
Limits, stated plainly
- Installments are not available on the Stripe rail; they need NMI or TRX.
- Moonshot is not a lender. An installment plan is the clinic's own recurring charge, not financing.
What it costs
Included with the integrated-payments module ($200 per location per month) on NMI or TRX.

Questions people ask next
What happens if a patient stops paying mid-plan?
Retries are bounded, the patient is notified, and staff get a task. The plan does not silently run forever; a person decides.
Can we refund one installment?
Yes. Cycles 2 through N can be voided or refunded from Billing.
Can a patient pay a plan off early?
Staff can record a cycle or the remainder as paid and close the plan.
